Who is my Strength?

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."
-Psalm 28:7
Have you ever reached points in your life Where you feel like you just can't go anymore. You feel like your hit the end of the road, and all of your strength has seemingly evaporated from your body.
In our Christian walk, we will hit these low points more often than we think. It may almost seem like everything we turn around we are in another low spot.
The question is, "what do you turn to in your low points?"
There are so many things in today's day and age to turn to. We have TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc. There are so many different outlets to distract your mind and fill you with a temporary fix.
These temporary fixes are addicting. They supply us with an immediate joy that fixes what we feel for a moment, but within 30 minutes or less, the feeling fades and you scroll to find the next fix....
What if we applied that same "addiction" behavior to the Bible? What if we focused intently on God's Word instead of social media?
That sounds like a wonderful idea, but. . . how do we get there?
Focusing on God's Word isn't as appealing as scrolling through TikTok or any other social media. Focusing on God's Word takes time and effort, and can often feel like a drag especially for newer believers.
Human nature leans towards what is easy. It's easy to grab a phone and mindlessly scroll through reels or Facebook post that you don't care about. It's easy to let your mind not think rather than to think.
My question to you is, "How long will you allow your mind to go silent, and avoid building the brilliant thing that God gave you?"
Avoiding what you feel in the moment will neither grow your relationship with God and yourself.
God gave you this beautiful tool called a mind, and He expects us to use it and grow it. The Psalmist says that "God is my strength and my shield." He is right in saying that because God wants to help us and aid us through whatever obstacle comes our way. He IS our shield and He IS our strength.
He is an everlasting strength when we call upon His name! When we set aside social media, it will be difficult because we are giving up ease for work. But, the ease only last so long; God's Word lasts forever.
"surely the people are like grass. Grass withers and flowers fade away, when the Lord’s breath blows on them, but the word of our God will stand forever.” - Isaiah 40:8
Focus on God's, and allow Him to be your focus and strength. Through allowing Him to be your strength, you are also building trust and faith in Him also. Be encouraged that through the struggle God will never leave you or forsake you. Even in your lowest points He is there with strength to carry you through whatever obstacles stand in your way.
Put down social media, and seek God. He is the only strength that will carry you through!
